Wing Dings or Pizza

When I was younger, I tried ordering wing dings at a restaurant. I was pretty shy and soft-spoken, so when the waitress replied with, “Pizza"?” because she couldn’t hear me, I said yes.

I think of that incident every time I ask a teenager (or anyone for that matter) if they like their (prescribed) skincare routine. Every so often, I’ll have a kid say they like it, all while mom has a silent fit in the corner chair because they do nothing but complain about it at home.

Sometimes it’s the texture of the cream or the way it makes their skin feel.

Other times, it’s the constant bleaching of their towels and pillowcases or even the yellow hue it gives to their skin.

Chances are, if you don’t like your routine for a reason, I’ve heard it before. And, guess what, my feelings aren’t hurt AT ALL.

A skincare routine you don’t like = a skincare routine you don’t do.

A skincare routine you don’t do = a skincare routine that doesn’t work.

I heard a quote recently that said, “The answer is always no if you don’t ask the question.”. The same applies to your routine. It will never change if you don’t speak up about your dislikes.

Speak up. Be honest. Get the wing dings.
