Better Together

Why do acne routines have to be all OTC or all prescription? In my opinion, some of the best routines I recommend are a combination of the best from both worlds.

Check out some of my faves!

Prescription Clindamycin lotion with OTC La RochePosay Effaclar Duo

  • Great for those with red, pus-filled pimples

  • Apply Clindamycin lotion in the morning, followed with a moisturizer/sunscreen combo

  • Apply Effaclar Duo in the evening, followed by moisturizer (Caution: This product contains BPO, which may lead to bleaching of your dark pillowcases)

Prescription Tretinoin cream with OTC Cerave Acne Control Gel

  • Ideal for those who struggle with clogged pores and blackheads

  • Apply Acne Control Gel in the morning, followed with a moisturizer/sunscreen combo

  • Apply Tretinoin cream in the evening, followed by moisturizer

Prescription Aczone cream with OTC La RochePosay Retinol B3 Serum

  • Perfect for all my adult-female-acne strugglers

  • Apply Aczone cream in the morning, followed by a moisturizer/sunscreen combo

  • Apply Retinol Serum in the evening, followed by moisturizer

Prescription Clindamycin lotion with OTC Panoxyl Acne Foaming Wash

  • Go-to routine for body acne

  • Use Panoxyl wash daily in the shower on affected areas

  • Apply Clindamycin lotion after shower

Pair any of these combinations with gentle cleanser twice a day and you’ll be well on your way to clear skin!

-xoxo
