New Mom....Who Dis

Well, well, well….Look who’s back.

If you’ve been following along, you know by now, there’s a new addition to our fam….hence my absence.

Motherhood is a whirlwind. It’s amazing. It’s exhausting. It’s an adjustment.

With so much change, I have found having a few daily constants help to make this transition a little more comfortable and, perhaps, you will, too.

Daily Non-Negotiables

  1. Movement.

    • Whether it’s pilates, walking, or a quick weight workout, starting the day with 20 minutes of movement sets the tone (pun intended) for the rest of the day.

  2. Meditation.

    • I may not be getting out the salt rock, crystals, and meditation pillow, BUT, listening to my daily meditation while I’m brushing my teeth has done wonders to set the tone for the day.

  3. Something Green.

    • I thought I was hungry while I was pregnant….that was nothing compared to nursing. Most days, I feel like I can’t stay out of the pantry, so I give myself a little grace to do so by making sure I eat something green every day. Cucumber. Avocados. Spinach. Keep it interesting.

  4. Skincare.

    • Again, I certainly don’t have the luxury of unlimited time in the mornings, but I always make sure to do the bare minimum when it comes to my skincare routine. Cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF are musts. Vitamin C, glycolic acid, eye cream, and retinol are all added bonuses if time allows.

  5. Shower.

    • Last, but certainly not least. This is something I severely took for granted pre-baby. Never underestimate the power of a shower. You’re going to get dirty. You likely won’t be leaving the house on most days. You may not even change out of sweats. Shower. I promise, it’s worth it.

Motherhood is not one-size-fits-all. Someone recently told me to be flexible in my approach, and I can’t pass that onto you enough. So, although these non-negotiables may work for me, you might find another set that work for you.

Whatever it may be, just remember, you’re doing great.
